The dovetail "nut" took a little fitting and the rear screws had to be
carefully inserted just at the right moment, made a tight fitting
installation on the 1894. Only mount I've had that came with its own
threadlocker. Take the bolt out before mounting, the stuff runs. I
didn't plan on using the peep with the scope mounted, so I went with
normal height rings. No problems with cheek weld. I used an IER
1.5-4x scope, the bell isn't too big to allow shorter rings.
Personally, I can't see going with a big chunk of glass on a little
carbine like this, kind of defeats the purpose. Looks like the mount
would be long enough to handle a shorter eye relief scope if
necessary. The Lyman peep is still usable once the scope is removed,
I like it better than the XR sight.

Only downside is the cost, with the scope and rings it ran about what
I've got in the gun. Google around, you can do better than Cabela's.
