# Just picked up my first "Black Rifle" a Bushmaster Varminter. What
# would you suggest I buy for cleaning, and maintaining?
# Wolf ?
get a cleaning rod guide (try midway, sinclair, etc) a nylon coated 1 piece
rod and nylon brushes to clean.
buy a few spare parts, bushmaster has a kit of the usual things, but usually
its just the 3 piston rings and the little cotter-pin do-hicky that you
might need.
a lot of service rifle shooters use CLP for the primary lube, maybe a little
grease on the shiny spots.
Most serious AR-15 fans avoid wolf, I will not shoot it in an AR-15, (but
its the only 7.62x39 I'd buy for a russian designed rifle) apparently the
laquer coating on the steel case does not get along well with the shallow
taper of the .223 chamber.
winchester USA white box, federal american eagle and remington UMC all 55 gr
FMJ is decent plinking ammo, US made and it now costs twice what it did a
coupla years ago, but all ammo does it seems.
