# # # I'm going to be picking up my first 1911 soon and all of the advice
# # # I've gotten from the older guys is "get some bulk .45 ammo and shoot
# # # shoot shoot". I've been looking around at different ammunition and
# # # places to buy it. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to get and
# # # from where? I'm a college student so cost is definitely a factor.
# #
# #
# # If it cost you only slightly less than factory (WWB $26 at wallyworld)
to
# # reload you are doing it wrong. Buy used equipment (carbide sizing die is
# # compulsory) look on E-bay they regularly have single stage stuff cheap.
#
# I'm looking at that Lee Anniversary Set for $69.95.

# Any reason that won't work?
will work fine, I use their Priming tool and Powder measure. the press and
scale will work. I prefer my magnetically dampened scale...check that model
out to make sure it is. I like my RCBS .45 dies better than my Lee .380
dies. Spend the long dollar and get the RCBS carbide die set. Charge the
cases separately at first, look the whole rack over to make sure there are
no doubles or no-charge cases. As you get better and want to spend more
money, the sky's the limit on production and investment. The ABC's of
Reloading is a good read, I am sure there are others but it worked for me.

My wife says all life's little problems can be solved with a ball peen
hammer and duct tape...I prefer a mixture of stainless brass and lead.
