After seriously studying in person at least a dozen small handguns,
and packing several around with me (night time delivery driver), I
personally found the P3AT is the best compromise of weight, caliber,
price, and concealment, for pocket carry.
I cant slip in and out of a box truck, slide through tight aisles of
boxes in back, hop up and down the lift gate, etc., with anything on
my side, or it WILL get caught or pulled off.
In the past, I'd end up finally just leaving my gun and cell phone
etc., in the glove box because it was such a hastle.
That of course did nothing to protect me in dark alleys.
Now cell phones are tiny, and can fit in a shirt pocket. The P3AT, is
so light and flat, you can carry it in gym shorts.
Fully loaded, with 90gr ball, it weighs almost the same as my leather
tri-fold (stuffed with paper, not money!).
I can't say enough good things about it. I only shoot 90gr
roundball. It took 2 boxes for it to break in, and function 100% (I
had two jams in the first 2 clips. I was starting to worry then!).
The guns grip is so thin, that it is a little hard to learn how to
shoot accurately. Then again, its not a 25yd target gun. Its for
defense at 25 feet. At defensive ranges, I am confident with it.
The recoil isn't so bad, its the muzzle flip that is hard to control.
Once I learned a proper grip (squeeze more with middle finger, than
ring finger), I could control it much better.
Another thing, the Keltec is ugly. Sometimes thats a good thing,
because you dont' mind carrying it around with keys, change, or just
normal pocket wear.
I love my P380.
My standard "Bat gear" for a nights work is: 2AA maglight, cell phone,
Gerber folder, and of course the Keltec.
