I think the infamous line "Changing times" applies. Ask around even
among your more computer literate friends and see how many even know
what Usenet is. Many ISP's don't even carry Usenet anymore as
maintaining a well run Usenet service is a royal pain once all of the
binaries began to flow. Something Usenet was never really designed to
handle very well.

Look at the amount of websites, chat rooms, and so forth dedicated to
our sport/interest and compare that to the number of Usenet
hierarchies for it. Jumping on the Internet is easy, using Usenet
takes a little bit of effort. Especially if you access it via a news
reader as opposed to a web interface.

For forums such as this I think Moderation is great. At a bare
minimum it stops the various stalkers out there, yes I have my very
own one, from following folks into this forum.

While I don't know the Moderator of this forum and wouldn't even know
who he/she is if they engaged me in conversation, I think they do an
excellent job. Takes a lot of dedication to something to put in the
time, effort & energy for free, as a public service, just to keep this
place in some order. Wander into any group in the alt* hierarchy and
see what a cesspool it is with more off-topic posts then on.

So in the spirit of keeping this post on-topic, anyone ever experience
problems with a Marlin Camp misfiring? I picked up a 9mm version used
and it will not fire more often then it will.

For choosing to fight, one gets the horrors of war, stress, and possibly
death.

For choosing not to fight, one gets subjugation, humiliation, and
possibly death.

Choose your fights carefully.
