A Leupold FXII 4x 33mm is all you _need_ for big game hunting with a
30'06 and will allow you to use low or even superlow rings to get the
glass down on the action where it do you the most good. I recommend
Leupold Dual Dovertail bases and rings if you don't plan on using the
iron sights or their QRS if you want to be able to use the irons in
snotty weather, transport the rifle with the optics unattached, or to
carry a spare pre-zero'd scope.
