The Nebraska legislature has just passed their first concealed carry
law!!! The Nebraska Governor has publicly said he would sign the
bill, so it should be a done deal. I will advise when it is signed
into law with details, such as effective date and provisions for
reciprocity.

That will leave only Wisconsin (that missed passing 'shall-issue' by
two votes after a veto) and Illinois without any provisions for
concealed carry. Of course there are still states like Maryland,
where getting a permit is almost impossible. But those states are
becoming more and more isolated.

--

The Kansas 'shall-issue' law won't go into effect until January of
2007. It does have reciprocity provisions, but it is hard to tell if
Virginia will qualify or not. I would imagine that Utah or Florida
will be able to establish reciprocity with Kansas and those of us
with non-resident permits from either of those two states should be
in good shape.

Kansas' carry law is weak in many ways, but for all the places you
won't be able to carry in Kansas under that law, you will be able to
carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol!

Elections are coming next year, and if all of you get involved in
both the primaries and elections, we can arrange some payback for
Senators and Delegates who are standing in the way of our rights and
freedoms.

For me it is simple: if a politician doesn't trust me to carry in a
restaurant, then I don't trust him or her to be in office.

--

Delaware is close to passing a law that would change them from
'may-issue' to 'shall-issue!' If that happens, Maryland will be
completely surrounded by 'shall-issue' states!

I expect that the anti-gunners are feeling a little bit
claustrophobic about this time ;-)
