Ruger SP101 or Taurus 650?

I'm planning to buy an inexpensive snubby revolver
for .38+P. I'm leaning toward the Ruger SP101
in .357 (stainless, bobbed hammer, 2-1/4" barrel)
or the Taurus Model 650 (stainless, bobbed hammer,
2" barrel). (Prefer .357 to .38 for toughness.)
What gives me pause about the Turus is the number
of negative reviews of the small Taurus revolvers.
Lots of comments about breakage & lockups after
only a few rounds. Taurus warranty repair got
mixed reviews. Some say that internal mechanisms
are sub-par. Also, Taurus DAO trigger pull has
been an issue in some user reviews. OTOH, Taurus
is cheaper and has ported barrel.
Owner reviews of the Ruger are much more positive.
Fit & finish may not be elegant, but reliability
is said to be quite good.
Opinions?
TIA, DougZ
