Nonsense. This has been discussed at depth. Depending on the way it
falls, air resistance will limit the terminal velocity to 150 to 250 fps
(if I recall correctly, but that is not far off). While that will
smart, it is not likely to kill anyone. See Hatcher's Notebook for much
enlightening information.
Now, please note I do not advocate firing straight up in the air as a
safe way to clear a firearm, or as a completely safe activity ;-)
