Yes, Lithium battery. And, I don't really ever drain it right down, so I
suppose its shortened the battery life somewhat. I have no idea about what
you call noise, I just take pictures, LOL!! I never use the high megapixel
setting. I just use the setting (600x800??, something like that) for the
web. I only ever post pictures on a webpage (either the Pacific Central
page or the OrchidSafari page), so for ease of download for folks with
dial-up I only take small files. (Makes me a dilletante, no? *G*)
I guess I'll have to go dig thru the closet and find the back up battery and
use that one.
