Re: Pocket Fighter: Any real differences in the versions(Saturn/PSX)?

That "North American Version" thing? You think that'd convert all of
SPF2T into English, like you were talking about with VS? Man, I gotta
try this on the girlfriend's DC next time I get the chance!!! Though
the DC, Xbox and everything else I own is in storage, all my DC and PSX
games are over at her house...
snip

I bet my gamesave has had this saved to it... Strangely, my DC is harder
to set up than the Saturn at the moment, and while most of my Saturn
saves have disappeared into the ether with every failed CR2032 (my real
save cart was my most recent Saturn purchase), my DC saves are
(presumably) all safe, tho complicatedly organized in a dozen memroy
cards in a fashion that has been forgotten.

The Saturn memory cart is a damn good purchase. I remember getting it
shortly after I got my Saturn and Babbages had it on clearance for,
like, $30 or something. From there, I save everything on it and only
transfter stuff to the Saturn's memory when the game forces me to(some
games, as I'm sure you know, won't allow you to get a saved game if
it's not in the Saturn's memory).

How to translate " Super Puzzle Fighter II X for Matching Service" into
english?

Searching the net for the answer, I never found one clear/working
method to do it. So I merged all the info i got and finally managed
to put this damn thing in english!

In fact, the only way to make it read english is to change the area
(JAP/US/EU/...) of the game (like for the CPS2 coin-ops) but this
can't be made from the standard option screen.
So here's how to proceed:

- Launch the game.
- At the title screen, press START button. You'll land on the main
menu.
- Go to "option" at the bottom of the screen but DON'T press A!
Instead, hold both (L&R) triggers and press A (or START).
The EX -options screen appears.
- Select the first option. A sub-menu appears with VS modes etc...
- The 4rd option starting from top sets the area. Text is in Japanese
(and I don't understand it) but starting from default setting,
pressing right arrow:
1 - Japanese [3 jap chars with the 1st looking like a window]
(SPF2XfMS, default)
2 - US [3 jap chars] (SPF2T, texts in english, displays recycle
and FBI screens on startup)
3 - Hispanic [7 jap chars](SPF2T, texts in spanish)
4 - Euro??? [6 jap char](SPF2T, texts in english)
5 - ??? [4 jap char](SPF2T, texts in english)
6 - ??? [6 jap chars, 1st looking like a 3](SPF2T, texts in english)
7 - ??? [5 jap chars](SPF2T, texts in portuguese?)

Once you found the language that suits you, the best thing to do is to
save these settings to the memory card (5th option in the main OPTION
menu) then the game will always starts as SPF2T...
Note that all the option menus will always remains in japanese. But
everything else in the game (characters quotes, characters names,...)
will be in the language you selected. "

This is like the one I had seen, but they didn't go as into detail as
this one does. At least, if nothing else, with that one guy who did the
Options screen translation, that coudl be printed out and used...and
pretty much everything would be alright. :)
