After reading a post here in the group, I decided to take a look to see
if I could find how long I've been in RGVS, and what my first post was.
I went to Google Groups...and the info given was kind of odd. Putting
in my original, and first, email address ever into Google Groups(for

I find this hard to believe that it's my first post...but that's what
Google Groups is saying.

How accurate is Google Groups' usenet archive? I know it is said to
span back 20 years now, but I just question this information it's
giving me.

If it's accurate though, I guess I've been here for *10* years now,
going through 3 email addresses and 2 identities. What is everyone
else's stats?

I've been using fake addresses for quite awhile now, and it took me
awhile to get to a sensibly identifiable handle like now. Checking for
my college email address (which remained my email address for several
years after college), I came up with a few hits in 1997 (three years
after I started reading Usenet), some in the Jaguar group. My current
apparent address only seems to go back to a little over three years ago.
I can find posts from me here back in 2000, but I think the address was
nospam@xxxxxxxxxx, which is generic and essentially unsearchable. I'm
sure I was reading here before the DC was released, and after the Saturn
had more or less ended its US run.
If you were using X-No archive, Google won't have archived your posts.
