... pretty much exactly the part I quoted. The only two ways to
convert a 4:3 image to widescreen are to crop it or stretch it, and
neither is good. I assumed stretch but the alternative is still bad.
Well, I wouldn't say that he couldn't tell the difference...I mean,
hell, on my Inspiron everything is in widescreen, no matter what. Of
course, I wouldn't call most of it *true* widescreen...;)
Sometimes you really can't tell. I play all sorts of games on the
laptop, and most don't allow for a resolution of 1280X800(the
Inspiron's native, and max res) but when playing them in 800X600,
1024X768, it's not bad at all. You can tell the difference, for
sure....but it still doesn't look bad. I'd be interested in seeing how
the DC's 640X480 display would look stretched out, on an HD TV....might
not be too bad at all on some games.
