Sounds more like a high voltage leak. Take off the back and turn off
the lights dont stick your hand in there. See if there is any arcing
around the flyback or the high voltage lead going to the pic tube. If
it is around the pick tube you can try cleaning the dust off the tube.
Just the dust not the stuff painted on the back of the tube. Not a bad
idea to discharge the tube first. The dust will help track the high
voltage to ground. If the flyback is cracked you can try some epoxy
for it wait till it dries before you turn it back on. Ted
