The game board has previously worked on a WG standard resolution
monitor and the dip switch #1 is set to on as the manual indicates for
standard resolution.
The issue I am having is the image on the monitor signal is pretty
garbled and appears to be upside down and upside down, sounds like a
polarity issue? Not quite sure what to change on the monitor board to
correct.
Any thoughts appreciated.

the yoke wires, usually yellow and green are vertical, swap yellow with
green to flip it that way. If you end up with a mirror image, then red
and blue and often horizontal, swap red with blue and that will flip it
that way.

I found a black and white wire reversed on the connector so now I just
have a reverse image where the picture is backwards. Anyone know which
wires will flip the image?
Swap the horizontal deflection yoke wires. I mentioned already these are normally red and blue, flip the connector around so red plugs in where blue was and vise versa. This is assuming a horizontally mounted monitor.
