Are you sure the boards are putting out the correct signal? This could easily be either a board or a monitor problem, and it sounds like two independent problems, the color drivers are separate from the deflection circuitry.


My Defender at powerup, just makes the bootup sound about every 20
seconds or so and i get the scrolling "rug pattern". I at that same
time, had the boards looked at, when i had the Tempest monitor fixed.



Do you get any errors on the display (or is it just LEDs on Defender) when you power it up? Power supply voltages all good?
