Cool info. Two things of interest. 1) you wrote that, with your
yoke, you only managed to get 92 windings per side, and ended up with
a resistance of 1.2ohm, inductance roughly 2mH. What were the Amp
yoke's number of windings and inductance that you were trying to
match?

2) You also wrote that you only changed the vertical coil. Why is
that? Did the horizontal one already match closely in inductance and
resistance?
