I have 3 nintendo cabs, 2 of which power up to an immediate perfect
picture with a nice black background. The third cab powers up, picture
comes up, but the background appears a little bright (not too bright).
After I give the machine a couple of minutes, the screen brightness
tones down to a perfect picture with a nice black background and good
color. Leaving the arcade on for several hours shows no change. It
stays the same with nice color and black background. Messing with the
sub-brightness pot does not change this condition.
I have performed a cap kit on this monitor with no change. Lowering
the brightness or screen control at startup isn't any good because
after a few minutes the brightness "goes down a notch" and then it
isn't as a bright a picture that I want to play the game.
This seems finicky, since the picture looks good after a few minutes,
but I would have thought that a cap kit would have straightened that
out. Also, if it can be fixed, why live with it?
Has anyone experienced this and how did you resolve it?
