Re: classic arcade sightings in Boston area?

i've heard it was cool place but haven't gone yet.

Sadly, the most enjoyment i get playing the "classics" in an arcade style
setting in the boston area is at the Boston Children's hospital. They have
(3) 25th anniversary ms. pac-man class of 1981cocktail tables within the
lobby area set to freeplay. At least with a total stranger playing
Ms.Pac-man next to me, total strangers lurking, waiting for their turn
behind me as i play galaga gives that 80's arcade feel.
Other than that, this pizza joint in the bridgewater or brockton area had a
galaxian and a defender. I can't remember the name at the moment.

anyone know of any gameroom stores, classic arcades, or arcade bars in

Thanks !!

I visited the Summerville Goodtime emporium just a few weeks ago, in
the Boston area. It's a huge place, most of it is an arcade.
They have a Pacman cocktail, Asteroid cocktail (non-working)
and some other classics. Mostly newer games, but you'll find some
other classics. I'm surprised I couldn't locate a website for you.
Summerville is just outside Boston. I recommend a daytime visit,
doesn't look like the safest area.

In another town just outside Boston is Bostonville

Not too far away in NH is Funworld. Yet another huge place. Not a
lot of classics, but some. Interesting arcade layout in any case.

I'm sure you must know about Funspot, an hour & a half away.
Not exactly in the Boston area, but if your from out of state flying
to Boston, it's reachable. Doesn't get any better than this for
classic games.

Hope that helps.
