Re: GO7 B+ low

And yes I did read the flowchart and I appreciate you sending it to me. I
actually have all of Randy's stuff from his website and while I've learned a
lot, I still have more to learn. The problem pretty much has to be in the
power supply section of the monitor, so hopefully it's just a matter of time
until I can figure out why it's behaving the way it is.

Wow.........

The reason I mentioned the flyback and HOT is because they were both
changed when I did the cap kit a few days ago. I always rebuild any GO7's
I plan to keep with flybacks, hots, and cap kits and this one was no
exception. Considering I'm looking at the 900 series components in the
power supply section, I guess mentioning the hot and flyback wasn't
necessary, but neither was the tone of your reply.

did you read the flow chart I sent you? It said nothing about flyback,
hot.......sometimes I don't know why I bother anymore.

Yep turns out R908 is okay after I tested it out of circuit. I also
pulled and tested all 900 serieies resitors this way and found nothing
wrong. Monitor has a cap kit, new flyback, and new HOT.

Depending on the circuitry. Sometimes you have to pull the part out to
see what the actual ohms are but if you measured a good board with the
same 9kohms, I would say it's good. I sent you a flow chart that
should help.

Also look for bad solder joints and you may want to install a cap kit
since you have it out.

Interesting. I checked that one again and my meter is reading 9kOhm
and the manual says it should be 47kOhm. I remember seeing that
earlier today and being a bit confused because another working monitor
and parts chassis both tested 9kOhm on that resistor even though the
manual says it's 47kOhm. Aren't you able to test them in circuit or do
you have to pull them like diodes and transistors? I'm sure other
resistors did test out good in circuit. It seems odd that I'd have 3
chassis all with the same resistor going bad.

Try replacing R908 then adjust b+

Hey all,

I've posted this on the KLOV forums, but I thought I'd see if I can
get some additional advice here. I have a GO7 with the B+ pot
cranked and I can only get it up to 117. If it's cranked the other
way it only goes down to 107. Interestingly, it stays at 107 until
you have the pot turned aobut 3/4's of the way open. That made me
think the pot was bad, but I took the chassis out and tested the pot
and it seemed to be working as it should. I've also pulled and
tested X901 and 902 as well as other 900 series resistors. My next
thought is maybe the voltage regulator transistor mounted on the
side could be bad. I have a reading of 154 into the large white
resistor so I've got plenty of input power. What risk would I be
running if I leave the pot cranked and run the monitor with the 116?
Any thoughts on this are appreciated. Thanks.
