Drewster98,
Without a cabinet or PCB to swap around, you'll need to find some
other way to verify if your PCB is working. Bad voltage regulators,
various output section components, and plently of other game board
problems could cause your monitor not to operate.
Perhaps post your location and a local collector will test it for you.
Else, you can use a DMM or ocilloscope to check the PCB X and Y
outputs.

Do i need to look for bad traces on all 3 boards or just the board
with the flyback? And what do you mean by heater voltage? I'm a
complete newbie unfortunately when it comes to fixing games. All I
can really do is do a cap kit so far on my games. And I don't have
another board to insert into the machine nor do I have another cabinet
to test my current board.

Yeah, I played with all the adjustments. I did replace the 25k high
voltage adjustment regulator on the board and haven't adjusted that
yet. I'm not really sure how to measure the voltage properly on
that. Could that be causing my monitor not to come on? Or are we
basically talking about a bad flyback?

I picked up a Tempest this weekend and the game plays blind. I've
currently installed a new cap kit and the lv2000 low voltage pcb.
LV2000 has been adjusted to +26v and -26v respectively. I thought all
that would solve my issue but the game still plays blind. Both lights
on the lv2000 come on as they should. The neck does have a faint glow
so I'm not really sure where to look now. Any suggestions?
Did you adjust the flyback for brightness? Try that first.

Well,
Could be a few things. First, you're getting heater element glow which
needs the flyback so I don't think it's that. Although, you could
have broken trace somewhere. Discharge the monitor, look for any dry
solder joints or broken traces. I had a monitor recently where I was
getting no heater glow, but I was getting high voltage. Still no pic.
I pulled the chassis out and ran continuity with my meter and found
that one of the pins from the flyback was not connecting. Fixed the
trace and voila, heater glow came back as did the monitor. If your
game is playing blind and you're getting heater voltage, it still
could be pcb related. Did you swap pcb's with a known good one or at
least swap your pcb into a game with a working monitor to rule out the
board?
