Re: auction in greenville michigan 2day HORRIBLE.

This is why I will not attend an auction. The sad thing is, even if
the bidding started, some A Hole would have gotten "swept up" in the
spirit of bidding and probally would have bid over $750. Most of the
auctions I have gone to tend to have "trash machines" that would not
sell, so they put them up for auction and hope some newb takes the
bait. Lets not get started on the smelly people (bid rats) who attend
some of these auctions hoping to make a killing (I am NOT referring to
"real" collectors).

i went to an auction at a roller skating rink that went out of
business today. they had :
ms pac man (that was in a black painted cabinet)
gorf (played good actually) physically not too bad but missing back
door.
centipede (peeled art on the side, trackball rolled ruff as heck,
screen warped but did play)
galaxian (carpet on the front of cabinet), sides of cab were fine.
played ok
space invaders deluxe (carpet on front of cabinet) sides were ok,
couldnt play it bcuz no keys and no coins would work.

donkey kong (no side art, monitor was in need of caps badly). couldn
test it for same reason as above
an old upright driving (like hang on)
fishermans game (fishermans bait i think??) - worked

auction started at 10am, they finally get to the games about 1:30,
everyone was waiting.
the auctioneer was at leat 88 years old (no kidding). he couldnt hear
a thing and he only allowed bidding by waiving your bidder card high
in the air in front of his face as he said he couldnt hear people yell
and he couldnt see people nod heads either (cuz he couldnt see or hear
well).

when he gets to the games, he says that someone already has an
absentee bid on all games and said they were "pre offering" $700 for
each game there so the first bid would have to be $750 on any game.
everyone got mad as heck and left at that point uttering things out
loud.. the old man kept looking around "is anyone gonna bid $750,
anyone"....kept dragging it out like he was shocked).

then he said ok and moved on to some more junk auction items like old
curtians and bowls etc.

is that a bunch of bs or what? why wasnt that told earlier or posted
by the games?
so pre warning for the future, the auctioneer was:
