Re: super off road opto pcb

Thanks Al, I already have done the swap, and the red control is dead in
both locations,a nd the yellow one works in both spots I tried it. Not
much to this board, a 74LS14 chip, 3 capacitors, 4 resistors and the opto
parts. I figure I can rebuild it, but have no idea of where I'd locate the
opto parts, and have failed searching on google. I have the part number for
the board itself, and the manual, but the manual doesnt describe the opto
board in any detail. The only question is where to find info or a
replacement part for the opto emitter and receiver

I have a Super Offroad. The opto pcb would be my 1st guess as
well.

Pop out and unplug the other wheel mechanism (assuming that other
wheel mech works).

If both opto units are the same (i.e., they both have the same plug
and opto pcb) . . . plug in the good one and test. Obviously, if the
wheel works fine then it's probably the opto pcb.

If the opto pcb is bad you could replace the bad components on the
board itself. An internal RGVAC search for "offroad capacitor" shows:

<OR>

You'll have to buy another. Bob Roberts has them listed for sale but
depending on the type of set up you have this may or may **NOT** be an
easy parts swap.

I believe Happ also makes a 360 opto pcb board as well; however, I
didn't see any when I was on the Happ site the other day. Maybe I
just missed them??

If I were you I'd try to fix the one I have. FYI, I don't have any
spares for sale either.

For a part number simply google KLOV and find your game. They should
have the manual there which lists the part number.

If you find another supplier (especially the Happ one's) let us know.
You can also try ebay.

Good luck,
Big Al
