Sega Turbo Monitor questions - was Monitor first? Newbie needs help on a restoration?

I don't recall if this is a mini or full size. If it's full size, there
is a shroud, a black plexi that screws into the shroud and the bezel IIRC.

Yep, it's a full size.

I have two Full size turbo CPs that are in mixed states and would be
willing to sell all or part of one for whatever you need.

I already have the CP on the cabinet and another one I bought off of
eBay a long time ago. Both have some issues cosmetically, but good
enough playability wise.

Don't recall
which wires are which but there are some pink ones in there as well.
Those wires are power, video signal and sync.

Yep, found them all finally on page 9 of the Manual PDF. Turned the
machine on, and the monitor is alive. Nice whine and lot of good
fuzzy whiteness across the entire monitor (since I don't have anything
hooked up.)

Here's the questions for the group... There are the video signal, the
sync and ground (white(yellow?)/black), and the pink/redish ones.
1. Why is the vertical sync not used? Is there a FAQ that explains
why there even is a vsync?
2. The Pink/red ones are described as a "Erase Unit" ?Demagnetizer? ?
Blanking Unit? This isn't a circuit to discharge is it? Sounds more
like a degauss circuit. Can anyone give any guidance? The cable just
dangles. I don't know what to do with it.
3. How "dangerous" (i.e. voltage/wattage) are the signals going
through RGB and Sync cables? Can I just twist for the moment while
they're live? Or do I need to properly solder and wrap after
releasing the voltage to the whole monitor and before plugging back
in?

Turbo boards are "relatively" cheap so you should be able to score a set
soon and get it up and running. It might be quicker to just find some
boards on Ebay instead of trying to rewire your Konami boards to test
it. You can replace the monitor with a std 19' if you make a new
bracket to hold it. I've seen it done.

Yeah, I'm excited that I just need a boardset and I'm live. I bought
this as an empty, junk cabinet for $40.I haven't played a working
Turbo for 20 years! Even with the video on, the burn-in was slight.
But, since I'm planning on doing a dual, switched Turbo/MAME cabinet,
I'm going to have to splice into the video cables anyway. So, until
some boards come up, I think splicing the is my next step. (There
were 3 sets at once in January! Shoulda snagged a set then.)

Oh, final question, do Turbo's have on/off switches?
