Re: Arcade Leg Help Needed

No problem.. I've been working on Ultracades and Arcade Legends for some
time now and that seems to be the weakest link..

You have to change the bios so that the PC will boot. Right now it's
sitting at the startup screen asking you to hit F1 or F2 to continue.
You'll need to have a PC monitor and keyboard with you. The main change
in the bios you have to make is to make sure the Floppy is not enabled,
change the boot order to CDROM first, HDD second, and change the power
state after power fail to ON. That should do it and it'll fire right up.
I don't think I'd keep the jumper in place as that won't help. I've seen
tons of those batteries fail, they use a cheap motherboard and who knows
how long they've been sitting around for.

I went to a home yesterday to fix an AL, that a customer bought from me
about a year ago. The game came on 110, Title light & monitor crackle,
BUT NO COMPUTER at all.
Thinking the power supply was bad, I left and drove to a local (but not
close) Electronics store, bought a power supply went back to the house,
installed it and still nothing.
I then pulled the computer out and brought it back to my shop. I called
a friend in Philly who sells these and he said the 3 volt battery was
bad, and to jump out the green wire in the middle of the main connector
to ground which bypasses the battery circuit and will boot the computer,
it worked! I THEN drove back to the house (3rd time of the day)
installed it. NOW, the computer (w/new 3volt battery) and jumper
installed comes on when plugged in, but all I get is a scrambled pic on
startup, and the game never boots.
If I remove the jumper the computer still does not boot. I think the
hard drive may be bad as well as something else, For what its worth its
a red board and has a casino pack running 2.5

Thanks
Best Regards,
