Re: Electrohome G07 help

If that doesn't work then you can also get a degausser from Fry's
electronics or somewhere like that. It's basically an electromagnet
that plugs into the wall. You hold it somewhat close to the front of
the monitor and then in a circular motion slowly move it around and
away from the screen (while it's turned on). As you move it, you will
see all kinds of colors going by and they move as you do. And as you
move away you will see them start to fade. It takes a bit of practice
but you can remove all the errant color that way and it will leave you
with a nice picture. You might be able to do the same with a regular
magnet....although I have no idea if you can damage it using one of
those or not.

thanks... I had the tube horizonal in storage. I put a chassis from a
different montor on this tube. I hooked it up to my gorf and had it
horizonal on the outside of the cab and it worked perfect but of coarse
it is mounted verticle in the gorf. must be what caused it. I hope the
degaussing circuit still works..

If the internal degaussing circuitry is still working, it could clear
itself up. Turn the game off and let it cool for a bit (the degauss
circuit only operates on powerup and has a thermistor in the circuit).
When you power it up, you'll get the degauss function and you can do
this over and over a few times.

Usually 4 or 5 times of repeating this will clear up minor magnetic
color differences like this.

Simply re-orienting the cabinet can bring this on (and clear it up too).

Do you have a degaussing coil? Looks like it needs to be degaussed since
something like the speaker magnet, etc.. got close to the screen. I believe
you can also use a soldering gun to degauss it, but I have never tried that
trick.
