Re: Zinfer: I will buy you a bus ticket if you take Darins offer

Where exactly are the bait and hooks here?

This most recent case of Zinphilitus was brought on by himself. If you
missed him throwing the first stone you weren't paying attention.
Reread the first Warlords cocktail post for a recent update.

As far as the Bob Roberts situation goes it is irrelevant as the reason
he let it go is because Rod finally made the $15 bounced check good.

And who doesn't believe that Rod has read any of the offers to help him
out? He hasn't responded to the newsgroup with even an "I appreciate
the offers guys but I have to stay in Ohio because....." or how about
"Man, this is a great group coming to the aid of somebody you've never
met in person".

I would say his absence has more to do with his number has been called
and he hasn't fabricated a story yet to cover all this help up that he
can't accept, for good reason.

Honestly, when was the last time you made all the right choices when you
were in trouble? Or for that matter, openly accepted the fact? All too easy
to analyze someone from a distance. If someone is in trouble and I sense
it, I'll attempt to find out the realities privately and do anything I can
that way. One thing is clear, Rod does react when prodded into a fight or
baited for a response.. perhaps that's the military years in him, but it
seems to be the root of 90% of this.. people knowing that fact and throwing
out the hook to see what happens.

Take even such a simple thing as smoking.. how many people out there live
day to day on food stamps, can't feed their kids, yet somehow find the money
to smoke a hundred bucks worth of cigarettes a month? Certainly not the
smart or right thing to do, seems simple enough to fix, but oddly enough,
they do it.

You're right, a silly newsgroup is not a place for therapy. But also,
unless we are trained psychologists and close personal friends of Rod we are
not qualified to judge his condition both mentally or financially. The best
thing we can do is put away the bait and the hooks and let the past be the
past.. Bob Roberts could do it, so can we.

Well said and i totally agree with you.But just answer this question. If
you were having problems would you turn to a silly newsgroup for help.I
know your going to say you would turn any way you could. But here on the
newsgroup he gets beat up.So why come here??.And you never know when
someone is yanking your chain.I do feel bad and would definitely help
someone in need.I have been there and people have helped me get back from
where ever i was.But i certainly wouldn't come here for mental help.This
place can drive anyone crazy.I could just keep quiet and mind my own
business but i really do care if this is genuine problem someone is
having.I just have my doubts is all.

Everyone remember, sometimes problems, MAJOR problems we have in life are
not necessarily money related. Things that happen to family, our health,
our finances, our personal outlook on life, our goals and aspirations...
all can contribute to a dangerous state of mind and feeling of self
worth. It's not all tied to a dollar, and certainly not cured by a
dollar. Sometimes spending the one dollar you have on a stick of gum is
just enough satisfaction to make you feel better even if for a short
time.

I'm not taking anyones side here there or anywhere, but really, if
someone is emotionally damaged, this kind of thing, however sincere it
may or may not be comes off as both embarrassing and condescending. If
you mean to genuinely help someone, then do it privately and sincerely.
Eventually we all stand up and reboot and get our lives back on track,
sometimes the path to that reboot is longer and harder than we ever
imagined, but we get there. Usually with the help of friends and family,
which however small and disjointed, rgvac can be.

Sometimes the wolf pack can get aggressive and assume things to the point
of being hurtful about things they do not understand. I don't claim to
know anything at all about whats going on in Rod's life (yes, he does
have a real name) but it is clear that for one reason or another he's
having tough times and based on posts here from many different angles. I
imagine it would beat me down physically and emotionally as well. It
helps not to continuously throw salt in a once open wound for no real
reason for years on end. Even if the wound was self inflicted.

Just give things a few moments of thought before you post that next
flame.

That's exactly why i would like to know the truth about this matter
before i jump on the bandwagon like some people do just to show how
concerned they are by tossing money at him.Hey it's very simple to just
throw money at someone. But does that solve their problems. If someone is
a drug addict and you give them money to buy more drugs.Does that help
them?.If anyone has ever watched the show called Intervention you will
know how to help a person with a drug problem.Im not saying that Zinfer
has a drug problem but i would certainly want to help if he did.Does
anyone know the facts about his problems??,.Please either post them or
email me direct

Not to stir anything up here, but Zinfer bought a game from me back
around the 1st of this month. He drove about 500+ mile roundtrip to
pick it up as well. Don't know if he fell on hard times after this, but
figured I would let you know since he did probably spend $90-100 on gas
as well as the price of the game.

I would kick in $50 as well. In addition, I can bring the car that was
offered up to Chicago if needed. Maybe bus Zinfer to Chicago and let
him drive to AZ with the car.

I'll kick in 50 bones. That makes it an even 200.00 which will cover
a months food for one person. Of course this is "fridge food" and not
eating out every night ;)

So now you got housing for 30 days in a new state full of
opportunity
and nice weather. And offer for the ride, or a car to use, and 200
bones..

Hey guys.. if Zinfer doesn't take it.. can I? :P
