My wife and I have been involved in foster care and adopted a 16 year old
boy last year (our 6th child).

ps: for anyone interested, there are 130,000 children in foster care
awaiting adoption in the US. This includes cacuasion babies (dispite all
the misinformation about the years long wait... there was a case last year
with a caucasion baby who had to sleep for 3 nights in the dyfs office
simply because there was no other place to put her!) as well as older
children. One benefit of DYFS adoption is that it is paid for entirely by
the state... you have no expenses what so ever.. .and if you adopt an older
child the state (actually, the federal gov't) will pay you a monthly subsidy
to ensure that the financial burden is never an issue with a child finding a
home. Remember, these children are in foster care because of the sins of
the parents, not through any fault of their own.

as some of you know, my wife and i have been in the adoption process

money on my car insurance by switching to geico, the other great news
is that russia has chosen an angel for us today. im so pumped and
wanted to share my excitement right now. i honestly dont have the time

our first visit to meet her is in 30-45 days. then after a period of
30-60 days we go back and bring our child home. i cant tell you how
excited we are. i already feel like a new daddy all over again.
