Tech: Joist Wouldn't Coin-Up - Reward!

Hi All!

I have a Joist stand-up that I have been working on for the last few
years. Part of the reason for the delay in getting it working is that
I have this machine at a summer bungalow that I only visit
occasionally. The other reason for the delay is that I got the machine
from an old arcade technician who "home made" this Joist from
various other donor machines. Needless to say, it is a hodgepodge of
parts, connectors, and wires. Fortunately, I can verify that it did
work at one point in time.

Anyway, I finally have a complete set of boards that have been tested
in another machine so I know they are good. When I installed them in
my Joist, however, it gets thru all the self-tests fine and goes into
attract mode but will not coin-up. For some reason it does not seem to
recognize any input from the door (it will reset directly from the
board). This includes coins and the three reset / function adjustment
switches (push buttons) all located on the front door. None of these
switches has any effect whatsoever. I have checked the switches
themselves and they are fine I have also verified that nothing is
disconnected.

Does someone have an idea on what the problem could be that would
prevent it from coining up and recognizing any of these adjustments? I
think I have everything connected properly but as I mentioned before,
since this is a "home made" Joist it is possible that I have an
entire connector off by one pin or so. Unfortunately, I seem to have
misplaced my schematic so I am hoping someone notices the common link
that can explain this problem.

I am so tired of working on this machine and am going crazy trying to
find what I did with the manual! I will be visiting it again around
Easter and just what to get it working once and for all. I think it
must be something minor but am being blinded by my frustration at this
point. As a token of my appreciation I will send the first person who
properly diagnosis's the problem $20. I know it's not much but
just wanted to do something to say thanks!

Any input would be appreciated!
