Thats not true that the only dedicated Star Trek was the cockpit. Sega made
a dedicated upright Star Trek.
KLOV has a couple pictures of it:

*raises hand*
I have a ST cockpit and a tailgunner II cockpit (same as tailgunner,
all hardware the same etc. Just liscenced to exidy for thier cockpit)
Neither are for sale, but though I would mention it to promote hope.
They are out there, usually just pricey because A: A properly working,
maintained and bolstered one has much time into it. B: Most people who
have one are part of the following, therefor they are keepers for life.
Thats not to take away from thier value or desirability but they *are*
out there. The Tailgunners are becomming obscure (ST's are plentiful
still). But not obscure by existance so much as obscure by the amount
of people trying to unload one. Most of the discovered and sold ones
are spoken for by buyers who "have always wanted one"
FWIW the only dedicated ST was the cockpit version. The rest were
conversion kits for sega and Asteroids cabs.
Would be REALLY killer to fire one of those kits in a AD cab and
invert the XY for a floating starfield effect ;) I know it would take
some effort with the CP and all.
Anyone done that yet?
But you'll find one eventually. Good luck to you.
