Re: AM486-DX motherboard wanted at least 100mhz for Megatouch XL

That sounds a LOT like the old gateway's. I mean a SCARY lot. Try
looking for those. I actually had one run through my hands that is
EXACTLY what you described. But it was a couple years ago, and I cannot
remember the specifics. I tossed it out because I had zero interest in
doing anything with it. I can tell you it was encased in a sub desktop
style case. Real small like a "book pc" (remember those?)

It was a gateway. It has a 486 babyboard in it. Onboard video that was
upgradable, ps2 for key/mouse, com a/b, and a single ISA slot in the
center for a small riser that plugged in vertically that would host
(3?) ISA slots. It even had this really tiny almost cute power supply.
I cannot remember But I'm pretty sure it was ATX (which one had two
plugs for board power? I get AT and ATX confused all the time =\) It
had two power plugs for mainboard power. I believe I was actually
messing around with a overclock chip for it that basicly simulated a
586 133mhz ;) But I can't remember for the life of me what that was
called either. Damn.. I'm getting old. But IIRC it would host 100mhz
486's. Everything was jumper configurable. perhaps you could pick up
one of the overclock sets for it too and get that puppy moving faster
;)

That sounds like your beast. Just gotta do the legwork to search it
out. I'm sure you can score them cheaper then dirt. Hell, look for
auctions for dirt where they might be offering the PC as a consolation
gift ;)
