Hey thanks! I'm not sure how much it will help me lol, my electronics
experience stems mostly from home video game system repairs and a radio
shack 1001 electronics set I used to have, but it has some info I can use.
I read about the xray protection circuit, but from what I've seen it shuts
the monitor down completely. This one just keeps blinking off and on, as
if it keeps resetting itself or something. I'm sure it's something simple,
like a cold solder joint I didn't see, or a bad transistor or IC, but I
don't have any similar part to test in it. The power supply and 4 of 6
pcb's from my wizard of wor match up so I tested the 4 gorf pcbs in it.
The logic and rom boards won't match up, so those are a possible problem.
I'd switch out monitors to make sure whether or not it's the monitor, but
my wizard of wor is a mini caberet. I bought ordered some freeze spray, so
I'm hoping maybe I'll get lucky and hit a component that's the problem, at
this point my head hurts just thinking about it lol! It worked great for
about 5 seconds while it was still a little cold from being outside, then
freaked out, so I'm thinking maybe the freeze spray might at least narrow
it down. Any other suggestions? I'm trying to absorb as much knowledge on
this thing as possible until my spray comes in. At this point I'm willing
to try just about anything!
