My Centipede volume is Buzzing/Humming

I have a centipede stand-up. Everything is working...BUT...when I turn
the volume knob, the sound gets a bit louder (not much) and I can hear
a buzzing/humming that gets louder as I turn the knob up. The game
sounds are almost inaudible. All the chips on the board checked out ok.
We replaced the caps in the power board. I am now out of ideas. Any
ideas from you would be great! Thanks for your help.
