That is DR. Evil. I didn't go get my Doctorate at Evil school to be
called "Mr." (sorry about that, I couldn't resist--Austin Powers
fan. Just plain "Evil" is fine).

Well, since you are following along, Franck (above) did mention that
JRE 6 full screen isn't supported very well under Ubuntu Linux. As
it was, I WAS initially looking for a way to make it go to full
screen. That tick box I mentioned in the correspondence above was
running JRE 6 under WINDOWS. So thinking back, I don't recall that
box being there under Ubuntu Linux.
Franck told me about OpenJDK, so hopefully that will solve my issues
both with full screen and sound.
The truth be told that I am setting up a dedicated gaming systems and
I mostly use Windows 98 or Linux for applications like this. I would
only use Windows XP for 'general use' computers. But my thinking is
why have a huge multitasking operating system installed on a computer
meant for a single purpose. Windows 98 is pretty small and some
instances of Linux are too. I like Linux because if you have the
right supported hardware, setup is VERY fast with usually everything
on one disc.
Whereas windows is:
Load the OS - Reboot
Load system drivers - Reboot
Load sound - Reboot
Load this - Reboot
Load that - Reboot
Well, you get the idea - Reboot (oops! sorry!)
