Alex took my goggles for some more testing, the goggles where ready to go, but i think the delay will be worth it. I also know John worked very hard to get them shipped before his holiday, but the last setback couldn't be handled before the holiday.
if i was the programmer and it hadn't shipped yet for whatever reason,
i'd be less disposed to bust ass to get it to you after your slags in
the above post. sheesh.
Maybe the whole point of taking people's money before hand is to be sure that your product is going to sell. Its sort of a chicken and the
egg thing. Maybe martijn really has no capital, so he must take money
for people before he can produce product. However, coding, updating a
website or emailing people you've taken money from only takes time.
I think Elusive Editions have a nice ring to them. If you consider it
slag, BFD. I'm sure it will turn up eventually. For now its an
Elusive Edition and its probably going to be boring. Richard's comments
on Color Mash makes me wonder if that will actually be more interesting.
I understand the technical feat of getting bitmaps on the vectrex and that
is impressive .. but I don't know.. spike on a unicycle is going to get
me a hardon before some blit of an end boss.
I'm also still waiting for a 3D imager and two sets of overlays and a vecvox
that I paid a few hundred euros in Feburary from John MacCallan (is that his
real name? I could swear he goes by a German name), but I'm not complaining,
I'm waiting. Supposedly I have #10 of the Imager (Elusive Edition) and #7
of the VecVoxx (Elusive edition).
Alex on the other hand just whips them out quite quickly. I got both of my
Logo sets (ordered and shipped) within the time I've been waiting on the
dutch and deutsch guys .. of course FURY is just a couple of states away
and I get stuff really fast from him.
So lets hope these Euro dudes 'bust ass' and get us our ordered merch in a
timely fashion 'sheesh'.
I have my Debris EE, but this also had a problem, and the roms needed to be updated, i think Martijn will ship very soon.
I met John and Martijn last month (Alex too) and I am sure everyone gets what they paid for.
I agree that it would be wiser to take money only when you are ready to ship, but i also know the cost of the materials which have to be bought to make the hardware and games.
I am also waiting for my final goggles and color clash, but i have already seen the results sofar and i think you will be very pleased.
