As you can see, this was added to the V:EKN banned list in 1997.
Banned cards do not need to be coded.
Wrong. The card was banned from _Tournament_ Play. But is still legal
to play in casual environments. All cards are legal in casual environments,
even the ones that talk about ante (if all players agree to use that old
mechanic).
Of course MotB was the extreme example, though.
If you look at the handful of threads where LSJ makes a REVERSAL of his
own answer in the same thread, you'll see how difficult it is to handle
all possible card interactions programmatically.
Technically impossible? _Maybe_ not, although extremely difficult.
Effectively impossible given the cost:benefit ratio? Absolutely yes.
