Under either of my proposals, the dynamics will be exactly the
same -- the players will be focussed on the game win, and ignore
the useless half vp bribe.
I'm confused what your point could possibly be. If the half vp
bribe is, quote, "useless", unquote.
Yes -- useless for the purpose under discussion -- the incentivizing
of risk.
Then no one should care about it.
Illogical. A dog with rabies is usless for the purpose of herding
sheep. That does not mean nobody should care about it.
Yea, but you're changing your story now. You snuck the, "for the
purposes of herding sheep". And, to clarify, I was counting all
uses, positive and negative, of the 'dog' ('useless half vp bribe').
A dog with rabies is 'useful' for biting people and giving them
rabies. If I'm a soldier besieging a city, such a dog could be
useful if I could somehow release it inside the city's walls.
Constructive debate might be possible if you made a good faith attempt
to understand what I am actually saying.
And constructive debate might likewise be possible if you made the
good faith attempt to understand what others are saying. I have
stated repeated what positive use the half VP serves. As with your
PoV about distortions, you can't debate effectively or constructively
by ignoring such differences.
