Wow, Matt. This deck is pretty shameful. How many times did you PTO
someone? Were you at least able to curb back that particular shame?

Negative. I thought it would be funny to build an incredibly shameful deck. I didn't think it would be good at all. I mean, this deck should get destroyed by weenies or something. But there weren't any around to destroy me.

My first round was John Bell playing Imbued preying on Brian Hess playing Sabbat vote/bleed with some stealth preying on me preying on Peter Bajika playing some kind of strange Fortitude bloat deck. I couldn't draw Etrius, so I made due with Justine and Lucian. At first, I took Peter's deck for weenie Trap/Undead Persistence (which would've really wrecked me), but after a while when he still hadn't rushed me, I realized it wasn't a rush deck and figured I should just get on with the bleeding and not worry about raising his ire. I mean, Peter rushes upstream anyway and would've delighted in how well his combat worked against me if he'd actually been playing that combat, so I had nothing to lose.

But before all that when I was floundering a bit and trying to cycle cards and not get killed by Brian (who had me outvoted), I had Justine get Sacre Cour. At the time, I didn't think it would ever matter because I expected Brian to kill me, but he didn't draw the votes he needed and had to resort to bleeding (Peter mostly). Between Brian's bounced bleeds and my own, I got Peter. Also, we both called Anarchist Uprisings which hurt John and Peter more than they hurt us. After that, I ousted John with an unblockable (by him, thanks to Sacre Cour) Ancient Influence.

I had John in the cross-table buddy position at the next table, but this time he chewed his way around the table to meet me as I chewed mine around to meet him and I couldn't handle his minion advantage.

That put me tied for 3rd seed in the final (won the coin toss). The order was Jeff (No Secrets from Tsunda), Dave (Tremere horde), Nick (Tzimisce bleed/block/fight), Jay (DOM Assamites vote/bleed), then me.

I did get Etrius this round and also brought up Zebulon for some early bleeding. Jay had the incredible misfortune of putting the two PTO on top of my library when he cut me. Really, it had to be the worst cut ever.

I didn't want to call them right off the bat because I was afraid the table would freak out. I also needed Sasha Vykos to like votes that could blow him up. Lucky for me he did, because Jay was bleeding for a lot with Ur-Shulgi and Yazid and I couldn't bounce him often enough. With considerable shame, I nuked Jay's ready region of vampires. He got out Suzanne Kadim, but didn't really have a hope of ousting me since he couldn't pass votes and I had a little pool gain.

I went forward and got blocked some by Tsunda, but he never had a Sniper Rifle or anything, so we'd just strike each other for 1. No big deal. Meanwhile, Dave brought out his entire crypt using Blood Dolls, Governs, Arcane Library and Wasserschloss Anif. I kept taunting him by telling him he didn't have enough Tremere and that there was no way he could win with only 9 Tremere.

Nick was on the ropes, but managed to kill Jay due to my vile votes. Then I got Jeff thanks to my massive heaps of stealth. I think a Horrific Countenance was DI'd or something, but I got him anyway.

I tried to help Nick survive Dave's aggression, but Dave had Nick outnumbered better than 2-1. Dave had nearly decked himself, but it didn't matter. He had the numbers to do as he pleased. I tried to bleed Dave for 8 unblockably, but didn't have a Perfect Clarity so I was bounced. I played a Spying Mission. I'm not completely terrible! It was pretty funny though.

Me: Nick, don't worry. (to Dave) I bleed for 8. Nobody can block at all.

Dave: I Deflect to Nick.

Nick: Why am I not supposed to worry about this?

Anyway, as the clock ticked down, it was clear that I could never get Dave, so I did something even more shameful - eliminated the higher-seeded player. Nick bounced a bleed for 3 to me and I sent it back to him, so he was ousted. Dave came in for the swarm, but I blocked him a little, then played Golconda on Etrius, to put myself out of ousting range. I barely lasted to time and won based on my higher seeding.

Look folks, if you're going to let Matt win tournaments, at least have
the decency to make sure that he doesn't do it with stealthy bleeds for
8.

Honestly, I doubt there will be many more opportunities to try to stop me from winning a tournament with a deck like this. It's pretty horrible and it could've just as easily wrecked somebody's game and then died. To atone for playing such a deck, I'm joining the "ban PTO" movement.
