Just so it's clear, I don't know if this is 100% accurate.
That's just what it seems from where I stand. The only ones who could
say "that's it, sure" would be the members of the Design Team.
What you and others have said in this thread is fairly accurate.
Playtesters are chosen from the online community (this NG, the WW
forum, &c.) based on their ability to demonstrate critical thought on
the rules and cards and to demonstrate the excess of free time to build
and analyze decks necessary to playtesting, to a degree that attracts
my attention. Writing a series of good newsletters is certainly a big
plus in the qualifications column, but it is not a requirement.
