I've played Nethack for years, but I've just recently discovered the
challenges offered by things like conducts and speed ascents. If you
want to take your game to the next level, this is where you want to
go. Be forewarned, if you are used to playing the game with -30 AC
and you've never tried to win with 2 AC, Nethack becomes a different
game.
2 ac? You can and should get a better ac than that. My 9 and 10 conduct
games usually got me around -10 to -15. You just have try alot of armor
(yes this takes patience. On the other hand, you did make it, so what do i
know.)

I like to wear speed/jumping boots, GoP, a silver shield, and gray
dragon scales. I usually try on lots of hats ... particularly after I
go through ludios and the castle. Generally the hat is the only
plused-up armor that I have. Not to mention that everything is
thoroughly rusty/burnt/corroded.
Every time I get poly and poly-control very early on, I think about
going for 11 conducts including foodless. It would seem that you need
to have a polymorph wand around for emergencies.
I'm not sure what if anything affects your stats when you poly-self to
same, but I've played games before where multiple poly-selfs got my
stats way out of whack. I'm always a little worried about that.
I've never played pacifist before, but I wonder which would be easier
to add.
