a bit of an unfortunate incident with a wand of death in Orcus Town?

yeah, my skeleton key was letter 'O' in my inventory, and I had
stashed it away in the BoH to reduce my weight. So I was happy I had
gotten Orcus' wand of death without him ever using it (because of the
'trice corpse) ... but it had been assigned the letter 'O' since the
key was no longer in my main inventory.

I had walked over to a locked large box, and without thinking
'a'pplied the letter O and typed 'yes' thinking it was asking me
"Unlock it? (y/n)" when in fact it was, "Are you sure you want to
break your wand of death named NEVER USED?" Oops.

Anyway I enjoyed watching you, and thanks for the brief messages to the
audience via #name.

Hehe, I had no idea I had an audience but I figured I would just in
case :)

Another misadventure I had forgotten:

I 'applied' the bell of opening accidentally for a reason I have
forgotten now.

I got the 'malignant aura' message on DL51, and my book of the dead
was not ID'd (and apparently cursed by the aura) ... so when I
performed the invocation ritual the 1st time, I ended up raising the
dead (and got an arch-lich in the process ... incidentally, the lizard
I was carrying around all game as a 'trice saver came back to life as
"let's not have another YASD" ... hehe.

So I was down to 1 more charge on the bell, but thankfully got
everything right after uncursing the book.
