That's strange. Even when reading my articles posted from
MailGate (back when it wasn't broken) on Google Groups,
my own articles were not displayed with the "rate this" stars.

Are you posting in ways Google Groups can't identify to be
the same person?

It surely can't identify me, because I post from two accounts;
usually from a Real Newsreader and occasionally through a the
web interface (though with the same e-mail address as ID).

My surprise was more the non-confirmed simple click in the GUI
coupled with the inability to revoke any unintended rating.[*]
