You can't get *food* poisoning from tins. Tinned food is never tainted.
It can be rotten, making you vomit and confusing you, but it doesn't
kill you (unless it's cockatrice meat or something intrinsically
harmful like that).
Well, I was vomiting and confused, and then an Uraki decided
to show up while I was vomiting.
Yes, you get confused from rotten tinned meat.
But I was somehow poisoned...
No, you weren't; you were confused and vomiting. You can get neither food
poisoning nor normal poisoning (what an amulet versus poison or a ring of
poison resistance protects against) from anything tinned.
Okay, so I was sick :-p
But I was sure I tinned the
mold fresh.
That doesn't make a difference; as long as you have something to tin (i.e.
it hasn't rotted away completely) you can tin it. Meat from mummies and
zombies becomes fresh again when tinned.
So tins of meat can rot? I thought they were fresh forever...
Oh well, I'll make sure I won't tin yellow mold
anymore.
If that's what you think, you might as well give up tinning
altogether! :-)
So what are the benifits of tinning?
--Dragontamer
1) If you don't have poison resistance, then you might not want to eat
poisonous corpses. Tinning will allow you to eat poisonous corpses
without taking poison damage.
2) You might find some very large corpses that you want to eat, but
your stomach isn't big enough to eat them all. Tinning will allow you
to eat the large corpses.
