Par. You are playing a bit too aggressively. Learn some lesson from every death. If your character dies and you do not learn a lesson, consider the events until you have. Often lessons aren't simple one-time point-of-action ones like "don't eat a really old corpse" but are more like "don't allow yourself to get into a crowd".

You're right, I probably wasn't used to looking at/for the bigger picture, it's really unusual for computer games to have that level of strategy.
