Depends on what you are using them for though. Yes, if you're just
using an IDE as a glorified text editor, and *nothing else*, you might
as well just use the command line. But for much programming, IDEs are
the correct and indeed, sanest choice.
I did my time using the command line, and moved to IDEs years ago, and
I wouldn't go back for any price, personally.
I'm no advocate of their use or non-use. If your IDE isn't in your
way, then definitely keep using it. If it's in your way, and you
can't find another one that's not, then stop. The rule of thumb
is, do what works for you.
