Who the hell wrote this OS anyway? It sounds suspiciously like Windows
ME by another name, by these descriptions. Or maybe Windows 3.1. No
proper protected mode? App faults easily b0rk the whole OS? Apps can
scribble on key OS memory pages willy-nilly? Even Windows 98 was
(slightly) safer than this!

But at least any of this 'scribbling', which doesn't usually happen, is
instantly cured by resetting the machine. Whereas, on Windoze, it's
perfectly possible to overwrite the OS directly and have to reinstall
that, and if you switch the machine off too suddenly you can corrupt
your hard disk (and thus the OS again). Also, I suggest you read
Steve's latter comments (concerning his keyboard) before you post any
more arrogant, blinkered comments like this.
