That was the motivation for the new store UI works: object-action
rather than action-object. It may have been a mistake, but it wasn't
some organic process like you imagine.
Thanks for your response Pete. I understand better now how the mouse works,
or is intended to work eventually.
It's not only me that imagines that the UI is a byproduct; everybody who has
an explanation for it, uses that as an explanation.
If it was planned, then a simple apology from the maintainer, for the fact
that it was never discussed, would suffice to shut me and probably everybody
else up about it, permanently.
That apology (or at least an admission that a mistake was made by not
discussing it) has not been offered. Nor a pledge to fix it in future
versions.
Thus, discussion about it is still fair game, and in fact very appropriate,
regardless of the vacuous ad homs from Antoine and the like.
Why don't you try playing a little FA with the mouse, as an
experiment? Nick's done a very good job. It's a pain on an ordinary
computer, but with a touch-screen it would work fine. I would suggest
V, but it's mouse support is still embryonic.
I think I get it now, so I don't think I need to try it out.
It is clearly inefficient compared to keyboard. It should be an option, and
the core game should never be changed to accomodate it, if it makes the
keyboard interface worse.
