Options listing

Right, I've got two lists of options to remove, based on feedback, and a
closer examination of the current options. I've been deliberately
overzealous, so feel free to push back as hard as you like. :)
So. For turning on permanently:
Show choices in inven/equip windows : on [show_choices]
Show weights in all object listings : on [show_weights]
Show labels in equipment listings : on [show_labels]
Display XP to next level on main panel : on [next_xp]
Allow quantity specification : on [allow_quantity]
Expand the power of the look command : on [expand_look]
Expand the power of the list commands : on [expand_list]
Activate quick messages : on [quick_messages]
Map remembers all perma-lit grids : on [view_perma_grids]
Verify destruction of objects : on [verify_destroy]
Verify use of special commands : on [verify_special]
(this just verifies activating borg+debug mode)
Birth: Maximize effect of race/class bonuses : on [birth_maximize]
(either this or half-maximise)
Compress messages in savefiles : on [compress_savefile]
(possibly with a slightly higher limit on how many messages are saved)
And for turning off permanently:
When running, ignore stairs : off [run_ignore_stairs]
When running, ignore doors : off [run_ignore_doors]
Reduce lite-radius when running : off [view_reduce_lite]
Hide player symbol when running : off [hidden_player]
Generate dungeons with aligned rooms : on [dungeon_align]
(are there still worries about offscreen breathers here?)
Avoid checking for user abort : off [avoid_abort]
Avoid processing special colors : off [avoid_other]
(Harriet, do you ever turn these on? if not, they can certainly go)
So, with these in mind, here's my proposed rearrangement of options:
User Interface
==============
Rogue-like commands : off [rogue_like_commands]
Use old target by default : off [use_old_target]
Repeat obvious commands : off [always_repeat]
Show dungeon level in feet : off [depth_in_feet]
Player color indicates low hit points : off [hp_changes_color]
Open/Disarm/Close without direction : ON [easy_open]
Open/Disarm doors/traps on movement : off [easy_alter]
Show details in monster descriptions : on [show_details]
Hilite the player with the cursor : ON [hilite_player]
Center map continuously (very slow) : off [center_player]
Use special colors for torch lite : off [view_yellow_lite]
Use special colors for field of view : off [view_bright_lite]
Use special colors for wall grids : off [view_granite_lite]
Use special colors for floor grids : off [view_special_lite]
Map remembers all torch-lit grids : on [view_torch_grids]
Pickup/Item
===========
Display floor stacks in a list : ON [easy_floor]
Prompt for floor item selection : off [floor_query_flag]
Prompt before picking things up : on [carry_query_flag]
Pick things up by default : on [always_pickup]
Merge inscriptions when stacking : ON [stack_force_notes]
Merge discounts when stacking : off [stack_force_costs]
Show stacks using special attr/char : off [show_piles]
Show flavors in object descriptions : on [show_flavors]
Disturbance/warnings
====================
When running, cut corners : on [run_cut_corners]
When running, use corners : on [run_use_corners]
WHEN RUNNING, AVOID CENTERING PLAYER : off [run_avoid_center]
Disturb whenever any monster moves : off [disturb_move]
Disturb whenever viewable monster moves : on [disturb_near]
Disturb whenever map panel changes : on [disturb_panel]
Disturb whenever player state changes : on [disturb_state]
Disturb whenever boring things happen : on [disturb_minor]
Automatically clear '-more-' prompts : off [auto_more]
Audible bell (on errors, etc) : on [ring_bell]
Efficiency
==========
Flush input on various failures : on [flush_failure]
Flush input whenever disturbed : off [flush_disturb]
Flush output before every command : on [fresh_before]
Flush output after various things : off [fresh_after]
Birth/Difficulty options
========================
Birth: Allow purchase of stats using points : off [birth_point_based]
Birth: Allow specification of minimal stats : off [birth_auto_roller]
Birth: Randomize some of the artifacts (beta): off [birth_randarts]
Auto-scum for good levels : off [birth_autoscum]
Restrict the use of stairs/recall : off [birth_ironman]
Lose artifacts when leaving level : OFF [birth_no_preserve]
Restrict the use of stores/home : off [birth_no_stores]
Restrict creation of artifacts : off [birth_no_artifacts]
Don't stack objects on the floor : off [birth_no_stacking]
Don't generate dungeons with connected stairs: OFF [birth_no_stairs]
Monsters chase current location (v.slow) : on [flow_by_sound]
Monsters chase recent locations (v.slow) : on [flow_by_smell]
Monsters behave more intelligently : off [smart_monsters]
Monsters act smarter in groups (v.slow) : off [smart_packs]
Monsters learn from their mistakes : off [smart_learn]
Monsters exploit players weaknesses : off [smart_cheat]
Still not sure about the monster options. I don't know whether to turn
it into a dumb/normal/smart switch yet, or til after I've imported some
of the 4GAI.
