So. I want an ultra ending. I'm not going to settle for a normal one.
I've even got a boar skull, for cripe's sakes. No AoLS. EVERYTHING
pre-Khelly has been cleared except the Minotaur Maze and a part of
ToEF:4 (I was in a hurry to cash in the guardian corpse). I've been
scumming ID:24/25 for an RoDS (item level 8*3 = 24... right?) for two
evenings now. Two long evenings. Hours and hours. And it's about to go
past day 90.

I have lost all pride. I now will stoop to nothing. (Except save
scumming, of course.)

If you'll really stop at nothing, then try a gremlin bomb in the water
dragon's lair.

It's actually what I did in the end. Manually, however. Yes, my fingers
hurt badly by the end. But holding out until the needed =oDS was
generated was a bearable process, about one hour. I described it in
more detail (and closer to the time of the event) elsewhere in the
thread. I use Winbeta, so I don't have the copy-paste possibility
without taking the trouble to switch to another version (if the saves
are even compatible). Unlike your approach, I used darkness so I
wouldn't have to see the drowning messages for the gremlins.

For quickest results I'd use the wondows clipboard...
:
1. Play adom in a window (not fullscreen)
2. Go into the water dragon's lair. Clear out dragon turtles.
3. Wield a fluff ball
4. Using Skill hotkeying (capital A by default) bind '2' to 'pick pockets'
5. Make sure you have no 'bad food' (stomachemptia, burb roots etc), and a
few hundred stomafillia herbs
6. Copy the following into your windows clipboard:
A27 A28 A29 A24 A26 A21 A22

Don't you mean "a27 a28 a29 a24" etc.? "A" would call up the hotkeying
screen, I should think.

[...]
After you do the above, you'll have a good few AoLS, RoDS, maybe a WoW or 2,
and enough stat-boosting potions and water to get 99 in every stat, along
with hundred of other nice <10s items. It'll take a tiny amount of game
time,

It took a game-day or two -- hardly a tiny amount of game time -- to
get the RoDS, zero WoW's, and not nearly as many stat-boosting potions
as you mentioned. Are you really speaking from experience?

Not to say your suggestion is bad -- it's good. But I think it's a bit
overoptimistic.

Of course, this will make playing the rest of the game a little pointless
since any shred of a challenge is pretty much out of the window,

You'll note elsewhere in the thread that actually, I eventually died.
But then, it was a Banshee blunder. But then, my character was not
ueber in any case, since, as I mention, I did *not* have "stat potions
for 99 in every stat and a WoW or 2." :-) I did have the BoW and
various other nice perks, but those were independent of my
gremlin-scumming run.
