Prometheus!

First off...

Nah, it would make a terrible pinball machine.

But as a movie, I loved it. Best sci-fi/actioner I've seen in a very
long time. Much better than garbage like Avengers.

That being said, I'm grading on a curve here - this is certainly not
up to the standards of the action movie golden age of the late 80s/
early 90s (Aliens/T2/Robocop/Total Recall etc). But it really is a
very good movie that might actually follow you out of the theater in
some way. I can't remember a thing about Avengers except that there is
a flying aircraft carrier. I've been thinking about Prometheus all
day.

Minor complaints - most of the characters are half-ass Star Trek
redshirts, and some of them do very stupid "horror movie" stuff that
would have an audience in Harlem screaming at the screen. But it does
have a few excellent, rounded characters, and it's probably the best
prequel ever. It doesn't make the prequel mistake of telling us a
story we already know, or deliberatly going from "point A to point B"
no matter how stupid and contrived it is (Star Wars). It's not really
the Alien story, yet it feels like it is.

I rate this movie 3.5 slimy Alien double jaws out of 4.
